Swim tips
- Get on the extreme inside or extreme outside of the swimmers.
- Start on left if fast swimmer. Direct line to the turn around which is over 1 mile of straight swimming before the turn.
- Wear tinted goggles as you will swim directly into the sun starting the race and the water has zero visibility so you're not missing anything underneath you.

Run course description
- You run around a lake in a u-shape..twice
- Two loop course running around Tempe town lake where swim started the day. It's almost all flat except a hill on Curry road which is only 200 meters long, so nothing to worry about on the legs. Run by family multiple times with loads of support out there, even a bacon station if you want. Enjoyable run.
Run course tips
- Bring your salt tabs as it can be very hot...but remember if you are out there after the sun goes down the temperature drops very quickly. Do not drench yourself with water.
- Sun Screen, no shade on course so sun can be harsh.

OVERALL
General tips:
Best thing about this race:
- The volunteers. Because almost every one of them are fellow triathletes
- Expect to PB it, it's flat and fast and usually great weather.
Anything negative about
this race:
- The three laps on bike may be boring for most folks.
- Overall number of entrants. But course is open enough to hold them all.
